For KIFF Aarau, we developed the visual identity and seasonal communication assets between 2014 and 2024. In 2015, we redesigned the club’s branding and website, centring the identity around a reconstructed K—a modular, iconic form evolved from their previous mark by Büro Destruct. The K became both symbol and flexible framework. It could stretch, scale, act as a stage for content, or stand as a bold marker for the venue’s presence.
Early in the process, we began developing a custom typeface to complement the identity system. What started as a bespoke display font for posters and headlines gradually expanded into a full type family—Kunath—now part of our own type library. Recognising that KIFF is a cultural space run by volunteers and shaped by constantly shifting youth culture, we designed the identity to remain open, adaptable, and responsive to new generations and changing contexts.
Across a decade, we collaborated with photographers, illustrators, and artists to create seasonal campaigns, posters, and digital assets that reflected the venue’s diverse, unpredictable live programme. Throughout our website, you’ll find several projects and assets from this long-running, award-winning collaboration.
