In 2018, we were invited by Enable Foundation to contribute an outsider’s perspective to DementiaLand, a public awareness project addressing dementia in Hong Kong. The short film features volunteers of all ages acting out everyday moments shaped by dementia symptoms, blurring reality and fiction in the streets of Causeway Bay. Our lens brought a subtle, empathic distance to the production, helping frame dementia not as a loss but as a parallel culture. The film became part of a broader campaign advocating for dementia-freely communities—spaces where difference is visible, shared, and accepted.
